Who We Are

Therese Ross is in her eleventh year as Director of The Little Red Schoolhouse. She is certified by the Department of Early Education and Care and is a member of the Professional Development Partnership of the Western Massachusetts Advisory Council. Therese is also a Supreme Judicial Court qualified Mediator and a girls lacrosse coach. She is a graduate of Wheaton College who has taught in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and the Boston area. Therese brings to the program her interest in conflict resolution, group games, and science discovery. She lives with her husband, son, and two daughters (both of whom are Little Red alumnae) in Shutesbury.

Christine O’Donnell is in her ninth year of teaching at Little Red. She has many years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and as a professional in early intervention. Christine is a graduate of Westfield State College and brings her interest in math, literacy, and emotional development to The Little Red Schoolhouse. Christine lives in Belchertown with her husband, son Zach (a Little Red alumnus), daughter Emily and son Ty.

Sarah Hodgkins is in her sixth year as a teacher on the Little Red staff. Sarah's connection with the school began when she attended The Little Red Schoolhouse as a child. After many years in the architecture/design field, Sarah earned her teaching certificate from Greenfield Community College. Sarah's knowledge of art and design are a terrific addition to our staff. Her interest in child development and growth informs her practice. Sarah, her husband, and three children live in Amherst.

Gina Fusco joins us as a classroom teacher this year. She previously taught in Ashfield and at Wildwood Elementary School in Amherst. After having taken time off to be at home with her children (Emma and Alex, both Little Red Alumni), Gina began working with preschoolers in a home daycare. Gina's dynamic personality, love of math, and focus on the importance of children's social development make her a wonderful addition to our teaching team.

Amherst alumna Wendy Plummer joins us for her tenth year as The Little Red Schoolhouse music teacher.
